A former 19th-century mansion, Kimpton BEM Budapest, on the banks of the Danube River, has been transformed into a 127-room boutique hotel.
General Manager Attila AE Domby says, “We are delighted to announce the opening of Kimpton BEM Budapest, a first-of-its-kind luxury lifestyle hotel for Hungary’s capital city”.
“We are excited to invite travellers to explore the cultural marvel that is Budapest through a new, local and design-led lens.”
The IHG hotel will have multiple eateries, including Bar Huso, an all-day lobby-level bar and restaurant; Agos, a signature chef-driven Mediterranean restaurant; and Fennen, an exclusive rooftop garden oasis.
The hotel will also have a dedicated wellness area with a 24/7 fitness centre, hot tub and steam room, and an event space and grand ballroom.
Nestled in the centre of Budapest’s cultural scene, the historic property is metres from the UNESCO Heritage-listed Castle District – home to some of the city’s best museums.
Guests can also soak up the views from the fairy-tale monument, Fishermen’s Bastion, and discover the history of Hungarian royalty at Matthias Church.
