QT Hotels & Resorts to open its first property in Southeast Asia

QT Singapore is the hotel brand's first property in Southeast Asia and first property outside of Australia and New Zealand.

QT Singapore is the hotel brand’s first property in Southeast Asia and first property outside of Australia and New Zealand.

The 134-room and suite hotel will be housed in the Eastern Extension Telegraph Company building built in 1927, with its design paying homage to the building’s heritage.

The property neighbours the iconic Lau Pa Sat Hawker Centre, one of the oldest and most popular food markets in Singapore, with around 80 food stalls – multiple listed in the Michelin guide.

The hotel will also have a signature bar and grill, Rooftop at QT, gym, rooftop pool, and bespoke private dining for intimate celebrations and formal business meetings.

The hotel promises to remain true to QT’s bold design ethos saying it’ll provide “an escape that reflects its locale with the eclectic blend of art, design, and innovation the brand is known for”.

Designed in partnership with interior designer, Nic Graham, it says the hotel will “bring a new era of luxury to every area of the hotel, whilst the distinguished façade of the iconic building will remain”.

EVT Hotels & Resorts Group General Manager, Callum Kennedy says, “We’re excited by the liveliness QT will bring to Singapore’s diverse tourism landscape and ever-evolving metropolis later this year”.

“QT Singapore will be championed by QT’s luxurious playful personality, from design to signature service and exciting collaborations, bringing the QT energy and vibrancy guests love from the world, to be discovered by locals and travellers in Southeast Asia.”

General Manager Doron Whaite, who has worked at QT hotels in Perth, Sydney and Auckland, says relocating to Singapore to open the first QT in Southeast Asia is an incredible opportunity.

“I am passionate about creating luxurious, memorable environments for customers whilst unlocking operational optimisation through untapped revenue channels. QT Singapore has limitless potential and I look forward to evolving this historic property into its next iconic era.”
