Regent Santa Monica Beach, a new luxury hotel by IHG Hotels & Resorts, is set to open in time for the US summer.

IHG Hotels & Resorts’ much-anticipated Regent Santa Monica Beach will open in time for the US summer on the famed stretch of California coastline.

The US$150 million beachside resort is the first destination in the Americas for the Regent brand.

Expect Mediterranean-inspired cuisine at signature restaurant, Orla, by award-winning Chef Michael Mina, a boutique by lifestyle entrepreneur Ayesha Curry, and a sprawling wellness spa by Guerlain Spa.

There are 24 suites and 143 rooms. Bathrooms have soaking bathtubs, rainfall showers and double vanities.

The most luxurious accomodation is the Santa Monica Presidential Suite which has a game room, separate living room area, and four Juliet balconies. The property also has a beachfront pool deck and offers guests beach butler service.

Exclusive partnerships

Chef Michael Mina says the cuisine at an incredibly personal concept where he has taken inspiration from his childhood.

“The earthiness of za’atar, the tang of citrus, and the intricate layers of a perfectly cooked piece of fish or charcoal-grilled meat all take me back to the captivating flavours I grew up with and enjoyed around the table with my family. With oceanfront views and the vibrant energy of the restaurant, guests will instantly be transported to the Mediterranean.”

Alongside Mina, the hotel will feature lifestyle brand, Sweet July by entrepreneur and philanthropist Ayesha Curry featuring high-quality bespoke products produced by Black-owned and women-owned brands, as well as an all-new menu inspired by Curry’s Jamaica roots, which will include café staples like Sweet July’s signature coffee, tea, pastries, and desserts.

Curry says she is excited to expand the Sweet July experience to the beaches of Santa Monica with Regent.

“We’ve curated a very special menu celebrating my Jamaican roots, and I look forward to bringing it to Santa Monica and the iconic Regent brand.”

Dedicated Regent Experience Agents will create curated stays for each guest based on their individual preferences, “crafting an elevated experience beyond expectation”.
