Sofitel has opened its largest hotel in the world, the five-star Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile, in Egypt’s capital.
Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile has 615 rooms across 24 floors, five restaurants and bars, a state-of-the-art spa and fitness centre, and is just a few kilometres from Tahrir Square.
Rooms have private balconies with views of the Nile and spa-like bathrooms, while the hotel’s 52 suites have separate living rooms and a 24-hour butler.
Each has been designed to reflect the “seamless fusion of French elegance with Egyptian heritage”.

Sofitel VP Global Marketing Nicolas Gronier says, “The opening signifies an important milestone in Sofitel’s commitment to redefining luxury hospitality”.
“It is the largest hotel that we’ve opened anywhere in the world. This exceptional property combines Sofitel’s renowned French savoir-faire with Egypt’s rich local culture, offering guests an unparalleled experience overlooking the iconic Nile River.
