They’re back! Winning agents from the first round of the ‘Sell Your Way to the USA’ incentive have returned from Utah and Washington, DC impressed. And who wouldn’t be with the top-notch experiences arranged by American Airlines, Canuckiwi and partners?

The lucky winners were on some of the first flights offered back to the USA by American Airlines, connecting to either Utah or Washington, DC via DFW.

U-rock, Utah!

Agents on the Utah trip flew from Sydney to Salt Lake City’s new international airport and onward to Heber Valley.

Is there any better way to relax after a long journey than soaking in a geothermal crater? How about ziplining one of the longest ziplines in the USA at Sundance Resort? Or could it be getting a true Utah experience with some of the first snowfalls of the year coating their heads in Park City?

After experiencing the newly renovated Homestead Resort, the winners took to the road to check out Red Canyon, Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park.

“The scenery and hiking was truly amazing!” Jetsetter Travel’s Meg Bailey said, having hiked Navajo Loop in Bryce Canyon, Angels Landing, The Narrows and even e-biking in Zion National Park.

“Can’t say that I have experienced anything like it before, and the combination of Northern and Southern Utah gave so much diversity to this trip.

“From ‘The Greatest Snow on Earth’ to the iconic road trip through the National and State parks to Las Vegas… my photos have been sparking so much interest for Utah already!”

DC

DC: a Capital city!

Agents on the Washington, DC trip departed out of Auckland on the inaugural service with American, again connecting these winners via DFW.

Beyond the city’s iconic monuments, memorials and museums, the group got to explore more of “The Real DC” including many of the city’s unique neighbourhoods.

Some of the highlights included a mural tour at Union Market district, a DC City Brew Tour, Water Taxi to Georgetown, a Washington Wizards NBA game, a DC Haunted Ghosts Tour as well as checking out the new International Spy Museum & Planet Word too.

But no trip to DC is complete without a visit to Ben’s Chilli Bowl.

“I had such an amazing time, as did Ollie and Lisa,” My Travel Seed’s Alexandra Orchard said.

“It really was such a fun and interactive trip. Destination DC should be so proud of themselves for putting out an amazing itinerary and showcasing what DC has to offer.

“I absolutely love this city/district, and will definitely be recommending to anyone who will listen now that I am back home in Australia.”

Three more trips to Nevada, Grapevine and Oklahoma, and Alaska are on the horizon for nine other Sell Your Way winners in the next few months.

The Utah Office of Tourism and its partners were recently in Australia and New Zealand. Read more about their visit here
