Virgin Australia has revealed major prizes in its Middle Seat Lottery competition, with four bespoke (and very cool) bar carts up for grabs.
And you don’t have to be an AVGeek to lose it over the ‘money-can’t buy, but middle seats can’ giveaways, which should appeal to a range of tastes.
Among the one-off, uniquely themed prizes are a ‘Disco Fever’ cart (with shimmery exterior, mirror ball and even smoke machine), ‘Day Spa’ cart (decked out in rattan and premium spa accessories), ‘At Home Cinema’ cart (with rich red velvet exterior and movie projector) and ‘Sports Bar’ cart (with esky, coolers, basketball hoop and Marshall speaker!).
Valued at $10,000 each, the refurbished collector’s items come from a former B737 plane – and needless to say, would look pretty cool at your next party.
For a chance to win these rare items, which form part of a $230,000 total prize pool, travellers need to book a middle seat on eligible Virgin Australia domestic flights during the competition period.
“Last month we launched the Bring on Wonderful campaign, a foundation set to elevate every part of the customer journey – taking flying from the ordinary into the wonderful,” Virgin Australia Group chief marketing officer Libby Minogue said.
“The Middle Seat Lottery is the first major customer innovation as part of this mission, giving guests the opportunity to win big by simply sitting in the middle seat.
“We worked to develop a $230,000 pool of truly unique prizes and we’re extremely proud to have items as special as these bar carts on offer – it really is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for guests to win these wonderful prizes.”
A Virgin Australia-first
Minogue said the bar cart was synonymous with aviation, and that the airline had “never before given our guests the opportunity to own a piece of our operation”.
“The carts have been refurbished by hand in Australia and I can guarantee you won’t have seen anything like them before – we really have playfully transformed the life of a humble bar cart beyond imagination!” remarked Minogue, adding that the new prizes reflected Virgin’s sense of fun and innovation.
“From a disco smoke machine, to a popcorn maker, aromatherapy diffuser and at home cinema, we’ve really brought out the Virgin Australia DNA in these iconic bar carts.”
