Australia is going viral worldwide right now and it’s all thanks to a fake movie trailer created by Tourism Australia featuring practically every Aussie actor who’s made it big in Hollywood & a legend’s son.
Unleashed online ahead of this weekend’s American Super Bowl extravaganza, Tourism Australia’s latest video campaign titled ‘Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns Home’ is literally – AWESOME.
Superbly done, the video relays images of Australia’s red desert, clear coastlines and more as they’re explored by the offspring of Mick Dundee – America’s favourite outback Aussie – and his celebrity friends.
The video opens with Brian Dundee (AKA Danny Mcbride & Kenny Powers), the American son of our Aussie legend Mick Dundee, flying to Australia with (of course) Qantas on the Dreamliner…
Where he is escorted by Chris Hemsworth…
Watched over by Hugh Jackman…
Gets into bar fights with Margot Robbie…
Is policed by Ruby Rose…
Goes whale-watching with Liam Hemsworth…
Cares for animals with Isla Fisher…
Fights with Russell Crowe…
And sings with Jessica Mauboy (“woooooooommmmbat” LOL)…
And just like his ‘father’s’ movies, Brian Dundee’s exploration showcases a hilariously exaggerated version of Australian culture where we apparently shout “free beer in pubs” and find zen by the beach… er, wait, actually that’s pretty realistic.
Although the (FAKE!) trailer was made specifically for America’s biggest sporting event, the Super Bowl, it was released online early and has since received a MASSIVE response from the public.
In fact, viewers are loving the trailer so much, they’re keen to get the trailer turned into a real movie.
