All Nippon Airways adds nonstop flights to WA as travel to Japan booms

Western Australians fancying a trip to Japan, a destination that continues to boom among Aussies, won’t have to wait as long for non-stop flights to the country to return, with All Nippon Airways (ANA) announcing that it will recommence its seasonal Perth-Tokyo Narita service early.

Western Australians fancying a trip to Japan, a destination that continues to boom among Aussies, won’t have to wait as long for non-stop flights to the country to return, with All Nippon Airways (ANA) announcing that it will recommence its seasonal Perth-Tokyo Narita service early.

Originally due to start on 28 October 2024, the service will now restart two weeks earlier on 14 October.

The flight schedule for the new flights is:

Monday (14, 21 October 2024)

  • NH882  Perth – 21:45, Tokyo – 08:25+1
  • NH881  Tokyo – 11:10, Perth – 20:15

Wednesday (16, 23 October 2024)

  • NH882  Perth – 23:25, Tokyo – 10:05+1
  • NH881  Tokyo – 12:05, Perth – 21:10

Saturday (19, 26 October 2024)

  • NH882  Perth – 21:45, Tokyo – 08:25+1
  • NH881  Tokyo – 11:05, Perth – 20:10

The rest of the northern flight schedule is as follows:

Monday, Thursday, Saturday (28 October 2024 – 29 March 2025)

  • NH882  Perth – 21:55, Tokyo – 08:30+1
  • NH881  Tokyo – 11:20, Perth – 20:30

Utilising its B787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on the route, All Nippon Airways operates the only non-stop flights between Japan and Australia beyond the east coast.

The service offers business, premium economy and economy class cabins.

Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) data from earlier this year shows that Australia is well on track for a record year of travel to Japan, with visitor numbers for the first quarter of this year up nearly 50 per cent on the same period in 2019.
