Royal Caribbean International’s Utopia of the Seas has arrived ‘home’ as the mega-liner looks to redefine short getaways.
The ship made its first appearance at Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, a few days before its official debut on 19 July.
Celebrations and star power
Utopia of the Seas’ Caribbean pool deck showcased thrills like the longest dry slide at sea, The Ultimate Abyss and the FlowRider surf simulator as it was welcomed home with celebrations by over 2,000 crew members.
Next up is a celebration featuring Utopia’s newly revealed godmother, GRAMMY-winning artist Meghan Trainor. She will name the new vacation ship and perform hits before Utopia begins its three-night weekend and four-night weekday cruises.
Royal Caribbean says Utopia of the Seas brings unmatched energy for weekend trips, offering over 40 ways to dine, drink and party.

Highlights include exclusive ‘Utopia‘ parties, two casinos, a Caribbean tiki bar called The Pesky Parrot and the Royal Railway – Utopia Station, an immersive train car dining experience.
With more pools than you can count, and a variety of entertainment options across air, ice, water and stage, RCI says its newest vessel promises endless fun.
The ship also features attractions at Perfect Day at CocoCay, combining ways to celebrate an occasion or just enjoy a quick getaway.
In June, more than 1,600 crew members and workers joined Royal Caribbean Group President Jason Liberty and RCI President Michael Bayley in the ship’s AquaTheater, as the cruise line took delivery of Utopia at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.
Earlier this year, RCI’s Icon of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship, made her highly anticipated inaugural cruise from Florida.
