Hey, hey it's the weekend! But before you slip into Saturday-mode here’s a quick recap of some of the most memorable moments in travel this week.

Hey, hey it’s the weekend! But before you slip into Saturday-mode here’s a quick recap of some of the most memorable moments in travel this week.

It been a week of mixed emotions as investigators confirmed the debris found on Reunion Island belonged to the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.

Malaysia’s PM Najib Razak personally confirmed the findings, saying he hoped it would bring ‘certainty to the families’ of the 239 passengers.

Australian authorities, who have headed the search for the aircraft since it went missing in March last year, say the find on Reunion Island is consistent with the work done so and they’re certain they will find the plane.

“We’ll find the aircraft there.”

weekend Bali ash

Over 50 Jetstar and Virgin flights were suspended, leaving thousands of Aussies ‘stuck in Bali’.

Speaking of Bali, airfares to the popular Southeast Asia destination are about to get a little cheaper after Virgin announced it will offload some routes to its low-cost subsidiary, Tigerair.

The decision will likely rifle a few feathers over at Qantas, whose subsidiary, Jetstar, is currently the only budget airline travelling to the island.

On another note, the helloworld company revealed it is on track to deliver approximately $7 million in adjusted profit before tax.

CEO Elizabeth Gaines told KarryOn she believes the turnaround is the result of hard work across the entire business.

weekend Norwegian Star

Oh and did you hear? Australia is about to get its first Norwegian Cruise Line ship.

Okay so the ship won’t be here full-time or even for an entire season, but Norwegian Star will operate a couple of cruises out of Sydney and Auckland next year, giving travellers (*cough* us) a chance cruise Norwegian locally.

weekend Hawaiian Airlines

This week we decided to celebrate the fashionable ladies of Hawaiian Airlines with a throwback of some of the airline’s amazing uniforms.

We are infatuated with the ‘Flower Power’ dress from the 1960s.
