Canada Day, eh? Canuck-style capers to celebrate in Sydney

Travel industry partners, agents and suppliers marked Canada Day on Friday 1 July with a fun Canuck-filled evening of games, including a virtual hockey simulator, plus more poutine and Caesar cocktails than you can shake a hockey stick at.

Travel industry partners, agents and suppliers marked Canada Day on Friday 1 July with a fun Canuck-filled evening of games, including a virtual hockey simulator, plus more poutine and Caesar cocktails than you can shake a hockey stick at.

Air Canada, Destination Canada and Destination British Columbia hosted 200 travel industry peeps for a riotous night of revelry at Ovolo Woolloomooloo in Sydney with a classic Canadian Caesar cocktail on arrival, a make-your-own poutine stand and canapes.

The interactive proceedings included spin the wheel, a photo booth, destination knowledge tests with pin the name of the state and the aforementioned virtual hockey simulator. 

TAG’s Brett LeRoy was the lucky winner of the grand prize: Air Canada Signature Class (business) tickets for two with eights’ accommodation at multiple Fairmont properties including activities.

The runner-up prize of Air Canada return economy class tickets for two and seven nights’ accommodation and activities was won by Helloworld Mona Vale’s Dorothy Roberts.

Travel advisors were also able to learn more about Air Canada’s seamless transit process in Vancouver International Airport (now available again on non-stop Brisbane–Vancouver flights) and celebrate the news that Air Canada has maintained agents’ commissions.
