Australian travel PR and marketing agency GTI Tourism has achieved B Corp status as part of its sustainability journey and continuing commitment to the wellbeing of its people and the planet. It joins other companies, such as Intrepid Travel and Reho Travel, using their businesses for good.

Achieving B Corp status highlights to eco-conscious travellers and partners that a company has undergone a rigorous assessment of its impact on employees, clients, supply chains, community and the environment.

B Corp certification is not focused on a single social or environmental issue, it aims to hold companies accountable and create a global movement for an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy.

Geared towards good

GTI Managing Director Sarah Anderson said achieving B Corp certification takes real commitment and work and aims to inspire others to make a positive impact in 2024.

“You need to undertake a B Impact Assessment and make a legal commitment to ensure accountability to all stakeholders from communities and customers to employees and the environment,” she said.

“We are so proud to be able to call ourselves a B Corp and we intend to use our certification to encourage others to commit themselves in the same way to change.

“The tourism industry can be at the frontline of combating climate change, supporting communities and regenerating the natural environment – this is integral to our values and something we hope the tourism industry will embrace and work to achieve in 2024.”

In 2023, GTI added Travel Texas to its client roster alongside Santa Monica Travel & Tourism, Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp and Palau Visitor’s Authority.
