Movers + Shakers: PEPR turns 20 and appoints Lyndsey Gordon as associate director

Celebrating twenty years of operations this month, Sydney-based travel and tourism specialist PEPR Agency has appointed Lyndsey Gordon to the new role of associate director in a move to enhance the agency’s strategic and creative capabilities.

Celebrating twenty years of operations this month, Sydney-based travel and tourism specialist PEPR Agency has appointed Lyndsey Gordon to the new role of associate director in a move to enhance the agency’s strategic and creative capabilities.

With nearly two decades of consumer and corporate public relations experience, Ms Gordon is joining PEPR Agency after six years as Head of Communications at Carnival Australia’s P&O Cruises.

Before that, she was at One Green Bean in Sydney and Ogilvy PR in the UK and Australia, working with big-name brands such as Tourism Australia, Jetstar and Malaysia Airlines.

The new hire comes as PEPR Agency partner and director Anna Mansfield departs PEPR later this month for a new venture following a stellar twelve-and-a-half-year-long career with the business.

PEPR Agency’s founder and director, Philip Engelberts, said the senior team changes marked a new era for the company as it begins its 21st year of operations.

“Lyndsey brings a notable record of delivering earned, owned and paid media campaigns that build and protect brand reputation. Her excellent media relationships, passion for creative storytelling and ability to manage a crisis will complement and add to PEPR Agency’s existing integrated communications expertise,” Philip said.

Ms Mansfield has been instrumental to PEPR Agency’s success over the past decade and worked closely with Philip to create a renowned business for its travel and tourism communications services.

Engelberts said: “I want to take a moment to acknowledge Anna’s enormous contribution to the successes that our agency partners enjoyed and to the growth journey of PEPR Agency. They were 12,5 enjoyable and fun years for both of us. Please join me and the entire PEPR team in wishing Anna all the best of success on her future professional journey.”

PEPR also hosted a celebratory cocktail party in Sydney last week to recognise their historic milestone, which was attended by agency partners and stakeholders.

PEPR, which stands for Philip Engelberts Public Relations, is a play on the word ‘pepper.’ Engelberts, born in the Netherlands, was based in Sydney as public relations manager for the South Australian Tourism Commission from 1998 until 2003, when he founded PEPR.

“We have been so blessed to represent such an amazing client roster,” said Engelberts.

“With so many friends in the industry, work feels more like a hobby than anything else. We cannot wait to toast to PEPR’s next decade.”
