For the 10th time, Helloworld Business Travel member Digby Warren (Director of The Journeymasters) has taken part in annual Outback Car Trek in support of the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Alongside co-pilot Mike Wheatley, who has now driven all 30 Outback Treks, their car departed Renmark in the Barossa Valley on Monday, June 3, with 11 days and 6,000 kilometres crossing some of Australia’s most iconic landscapes ahead of them.
The 2019 Outback Trek raised more than $1.5 million for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, bringing the grand total over 30 years to almost $30 million.
Funds raised through the 2019 event sponsors have supported the purchase of a new aircraft for the Royal Flying Doctors, adding to its fleet of crucial service aircraft providing extensive primary health care and emergency services over an area of 7.69 million square kilometres.
David Padman, General Manager Independent & Corporate Networks at Helloworld Travel congratulated Digby on his achievements and courage to take on such a challenge 10 years in a row.
“We are very proud to support Digby at Helloworld Business Travel, this is a great achievement and such a unique and inspiring way to make a difference”.
