There is definitely a strong appeal for rail travel in Ireland and it makes perfect sense. The ease, care free nature of the journey allows visitors to see the major attractions comfortably and at a reasonable price. Ah the Irish know how to do it well.

Railtours Ireland First Class Limited is now in its 21st year of operation and they are Irelands only dedicated Rail Tourism operator.  With their slogan “Car Free, Care Free” ringing true to all travellers, it helps describe the experience and is the number one reason why visitors choose to explore Ireland by rail.

This incredible programme allows visitors to visit all of Irelands major tourist attractions. This includes The Cliffs of Moher, Cork and Blarney Castle and the Giants Causeway without having to drive. No need to learn the road rules on this trip. Aleluiah.

There are forty one different tour options ranging from two days to eleven days including four star hotels at popular destinations such as Killarney, Galway, Dublin and Belfast.

Cheers to luxury people. Save me a seat.

Aussies and Kiwi’s have the option of the innovative London – Dublin package which makes it easy for Ireland to be included as an extension of a European or British holiday.  There is a daily departure from London by Virgin trains to Holyhead in Wales where guests board the world’s largest cruise ferry to Dublin.

Great news for travellers as first class upgrades are available on the Virgin train from London to Holyhead which includes full breakfast on the outward journey and snacks and a full bar service on the return journey.  This London- Dublin tour includes three nights four star hotel in Dublin and a Hop On/Hop Off tour ticket.

It’s important to note that in 2014, RailTours Ireland launched the five star Emerald Isle Express.  This is a very special tour as they offer a private heritage train to a maximum of fifty guests plus the opportunity to enjoy a week long in depth tour of Ireland by rail.

Unlike other Premium rail products you don’t sleep on the train – you sleep in castles and five star city and country hotels/resorts. Now that’s what I’m talkin about.
