The consistently #1 ranked mountain resort in North America is iconic for its fresh powdery snow, glacial lakes and epic ski runs. But when the snow melts and snowboards are packed away, Whistler springs alive with lush green nature and a bevvy of awesome activities.

Those good folks at Viva Holidays want to change the misconception that Whistler is just a winter destination.

BECAUSE IT ISN’T!

Read on to discover 4 awesome reasons why you should send your clients to the land of maple syrup all year round for some warm weather adventures.

#4. HIKING & BIKING

Even if you despise hiking in the great outdoors, Whistler will change your tune.

Renowned for its ludicrously beautiful selection of hiking trails, you can experience the untouched wilderness of the mountains, lakes, and valleys.

Been slacking off at the gym recently? Don’t stress – there’s a trail to suit every level of fitness and ability.

If you prefer being on two wheels, Whistler is home to the world’s largest bike park. Famous for their many cross country mountain biking trails, you can also try e-biking if you’re not so adrenaline-inducing inclined.

#3. GET UP IN THE AIR

Live like a bird and witness Whistler from up high on a scenic flight in a helicopter or floatplane.

Take the 11-minute gondola experience that connects the mountains of Whistler and Blackcomb. You’ll have 360-degree views of surrounding mountain peaks, glaciers, forests and villages.

While you’re up there, take the Peak Express open chair lift to the top of Whistler Mountain. If you dare, walk the 130-metre suspension bridge, The Cloudraker Skybridge for incredible panoramic views.

To get your heart racing a little faster, why not ride the thrilling zip-line journey for sky-high views across scenic valleys. Did we mention Whistler has the longest and fastest zip-line in Canada and the USA?

#2. DRINKIN’ AND DININ’

There’s no doubt you’ll get hungry with all the hiking, biking and sky-high viewing you’ll be doing. Thankfully the restaurant scene in Whistler covers all bases and has a meal for every mood.

From the Spanish influenced Bar Oso, to the farm to table inspired Alta Bistro, or casual but exceptional wood-fired pizzas from Caramba, there’s no wonder why people keep coming back for more.

However please don’t leave without a visit to Araxi. Consistently voted Whistler’s best restaurant, you can enjoy seasonally selected Pacific Northwest cuisine in a lively atmosphere.

If you’re feeling a little parched, head to Bearfoot Bistro and visit the Ketel One Vodka Room OR try your hand at sabering a champagne bottle in the extensive wine cellar. It’s also the ideal destination to enjoy an afternoon cocktail and plate of freshly shucked oysters on their summer patio.

#1. FESTIVAL FUN

The summer months bring a non-stop line-up of festivals and events to Whistler that creates a vibrant atmosphere in the villages, truly showcasing the culture of the town. On Wednesdays and Sundays, wander through the Whistler Farmers Market for fresh produce from local artisans.

Go Fest is an ode to the end of winter and the start of summer. The four-day bonanza celebrates all things outdoorsy in Whistler. It also hosts Cranxworks, the world-famous mountain bike festival where riders flock from all over the globe.

Beer lovers aren’t left out either with the Whistler Village Beer Festival bringing in local breweries to showcase their best brews.
