Qatar Airways stole the ITB Berlin show last week when it unveiled its new one-of-a-kind Business Class product,which actually turned out to be one of the few pieces of news from the event to make headlines worldwide.
But in the shadow of the Doha-based carrier’s four-way, fancy seating, was Emirates’ new A380 onboard lounge, which made its public debut at the annual gathering.
Thousands of attendees who visited the Emirates booth were given the chance to try out the carrier’s new onboard feature, months before it’s official launched inflight.
The UAE airline said it received nothing but positive feedback from those who tested out the life-size model of the product, which is scheduled to takeoff in July this year.
What separates the A380 lounge from other inflight cocktail bars and lounges is that it will have additional seats, tables for guests to place their drinks and there’ll be window views on both sides of the bar. It will also come with soundproof curtains to separate the lounge from other areas of the plane and it will be decorated with lighter champagne colours to give it “an airier look and feel”.

The inflight social space is designed to give guests the chance to socialise away from their seats, enjoy a drink or even hold work meetings at 32,000-feet.

Meanwhile, those who stopped by the Emirates booth at ITB Berlin were also able to see life-sized models of a First Class Private Suite, Business Class seat, Economy Class seat and a First Class Shower Spa unit equipped with a working shower and underfloor heating.
