If you are travelling to the Republic of Ireland, you’ll be pleased to know that the country has dropped its COVID-19 travel restrictions, meaning you can skip the extra paperwork and nose tickle testing.

COVID-19 travel restrictions have now been removed for international travellers entering Ireland, in what is huge news for the country’s #ArrivalRevival.

Visitors no longer need to complete a passenger locator form, provide proof of vaccination or recovery, or present a negative PCR test result upon arrival.

Any travellers that develop COVID-19 symptoms while in Ireland should still follow the HSE guidance in relation to isolation and undertaking antigen or PCR testing as appropriate.

A public health expert told The Times that Ireland is “flying blind” on COVID-19 due to a lack of testing, and the 11,000 cases recorded yesterday are likely to be an underestimate.

On Tuesday, health officials reported 4,423 cases from PCR tests and 6,957 cases from antigen cases, a total of 11,380. A further 19,852 cases were recorded between Saturday and Monday.

But with high vaccination rates, Ireland joins the UK in treating the coronavirus more like the flu as it becomes endemic in the region.

So if you have been dreaming of escaping to the Emerald Isle, now is the time to start planning and make those dreams a reality!

Your next trip to Ireland can provide a refreshing new perspective, with an array of quirky and enchanting accommodation options, world-class golf courses, mouthwatering dining experiences, and epic road trips along the Wild Atlantic Way.
