Colombia esta caliente among Aussie travellers

'Great, another story on Latin America' - that's probably what you're thinking and I really don't blame you. It's hard pushing aside those deafening desires to visit the region when KarryOn keeps throwing images of Los Cabos' food scene, Chilean sites and Brazilian bods in your face.

‘Great, another story on Latin America‘ – that’s probably what you’re thinking and I really don’t blame you. It’s hard pushing aside those deafening desires to visit the region when KarryOn keeps throwing images of Los Cabos’ food scene, Chilean sites and Brazilian bods in your face.

It’s almost becoming a weekly ritual for this travel publication to publish something on the fast-growing region because honestly, it’s just so dang popular!

The continent that’s helping Travel Agents break sales records, airlines expand their networks and Aussies take in new cultural experiences just continues to attract more interest, ‘forcing’ operators to expand their offerings, which we obviously have to/want to tell you about.

So while Contiki spreads its Latin wings into Chile and Bolivia, and G Adventures slashes the cost of a Limited Edition Mexican tour, World Expeditions has announced it’s turning its attention to a South American country that’s fuego right now – Colombia.

Colombia is caliente, according to the tour operator, and it’s not just because this super hot pop singer comes from there…

What the hell, Colombia may actually rival Brazil as being home to the sexiest people on this planet!

No seriously, according to World Expeditions, interest among Australians to travel to Colombia has spiked this year, an observation shared by Latin American expert, Chimu Adventures.

Chief Executive, Sue Badyari said the country’s history and natural wonders are a major draw card for Australians, as are its archaeological ruins to high-mountain trekking, jungle safaris and idyllic Caribbean beaches.

“Whether you are looking to get there ahead of Pope Francis in September, feel inspired by the 50th anniversary of Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s masterpiece ‘One Hundred Years of Solitude’ or you’ve been encouraged by the formal ‘peace talks’, Colombia is steadily claiming its spot as a ‘must-visit’ destination.”

To meet growing demand, World Expeditions has added two new active itineraries in Colombia, including the 14-day ‘Active Colombia’ trip running between September-November and featuring Bogota’s vividly authentic street art, Chicamocha Canyon and local indigenous communities; there’s also the new 10-day ‘Colombia’s Lost City Trek’ covering The Lost City of Teyuna, Sierra Nevada Mountains and more.
