When the hubby tells you to stop being ‘extra’ and to budget how much you spend on accommodation, turn around and show him/her who’s boss by booking the best.
Literally, the best hotel in Australia and the best in the world.
Home to everyone’s travel opinions, TripAdvisor, has completed the annual examination of its curated content from 2017 and revealed the names of the best accommodation down under and across the globe aka the winners of its Travellers’ Choice for Hotel Awards.
And according to travellers’ comments, the best of the best in Australia is… Lord Howe Island’s Pinetrees Lodge.
The property landed the number one spot for a second year running, because of its unique setting “nestled amongst pine trees” and its access to unspoilt forests and rich biodiversity of flora and fauna.
One reviewer described the property as “a perfect balance of activity, relaxation, sophistication and amazing food”.
Sounds tranquil.
Outside of Pinetrees Lodge, COMO the Treasury in Perth was labelled second best in Australia, and third best went to Sydney’s Ovolo Woolloomooloo where models and famous clothing designers slept during last year’s Fashion Week – extra!
Other stand out properties around Australia, according to TripAdvisor reviewers, are Aqua Resort Busselton in WA, Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley in NSW, Ovolo 1888 Darling Harbour in NSW (where a ghost was evicted), as well as Freestyle Resort Port Douglas and Lizard Island Resort in Queensland.
Meanwhile, Cambodia’s Viroth’s Hotel was named the best in the world because of its prime location, lush gardens, vintage limousines and more.
Vintage limousines, that’s beyond extra.
Costa Rica’s Tulemar Bungalows & Villas was highlighted as the second best in the world, followed by Umaid Bhawan Palace Jodhpur in India, Hanoi La Siesta Hotel & Spa in Vietnam and Gili Lankanfushi in the Maldives.
