3. Forget the beachside break, ‘Sweatcations’ are on the rise

Healthy holidays are on the rise with the Health & Fitness Travel industry worth $462 billion last year.

And the “sweatcation” segment is growing 50 percent faster than the conventional tourism market.

Travel Insurer TID (Travel Insurance Direct) says forecasts point to a boom in the segment, with some forecasting it’ll be worth $715 billion next year!

5. One month left on Scenic Canada, Alaska & USA early birds

There’s less than one month left for your clients to pick up an early bird offer on any of Scenic’s Canada, Alaska and USA itineraries for 2017.

The offer, which ends on 31 October 2016, offers guests savings of up to $5,740 per couple flying to Western Canada on select journeys for journeys for just $595 per person including taxes in April 2017 or save $4,940 per couple flying for $995 per person including taxes for travel from May to September 2017.

Other special offers available on the 2017 program include fly Business Class from $5,995 including taxes when booking any journey to Western Canada of 19 days or longer for travel from April to September 2017.

 

6. PNG’s vast travel options uncovered

For a destination as mysterious and intriguing as Papua New Guinea, last month’s Lukim PNG Nau industry tradeshow was a much anticipated event on the travel trade calendar with wholesalers joining from around the world.

Held on Monday 26 September, 2016, the exhibition hosted 23 partners from Australia, UK, Germany, Spain, USA, Japan, China and the Philippines in Papua New Guinea, to meet with 41 different members of the country’s travel industry. The programme kicked off with welcome drinks at the brand new The Stanley Hotel & Suites on Sunday evening.

Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion Authority’s (PNGTPA) Chief Executive Officer, Jerry Agus said the event was an important step for the country’s tourism industry and their visitors from around the world.

 

7. Infinity cruise experts explore Voyager of the Seas

Prior to Voyager of the Seas commencing her summer season in Australia on 1 November, Infinity Cruise and Royal Caribbean International have just hosted an Educational for Flight Centre Travel Group retail agents from across Australia on a five-night return sailing out of Hong Kong.

The group are keen to use their new-found knowledge back in store and were big fans of Captain Ryan who ensured everyone on board had an amazing time.
