But prepare yourselves Wendy Wu Tours staff members, because 2018 looks like it’s going to be even busier.

New technology aside – did you hear about the GDS-inspired platform coming soon? – the operator is shaking up it tour products next year, to be more in-depth and attractive than ever before.

Talking to Travel Agents in Sydney last night, Wendy Wu Tours’ Managing Director of Australia, Andrew Mulholland, said there was a lot of exciting new additions in 2018 for Agents to sell and urged them to get their bookings in as soon as possible.

“The best time to sell Asia 2018 is now,” he said. “You need to get as much business between now and Christmas as you can. It’ll set you up for a fantastic year in 2018.”

So to help you sell, here are some of the changes coming to Wendy Wu’s tours in 2018:

The most exciting addition for the operator is the newest ‘Immerse Yourself’ brochure, which meets travellers’ demands for more unique and adventurous activities.

Inside the brochure, Mulholland said travellers will find ‘in-depth’ tour options more free time for clients “to do their own thing” and more choice, such as the option of trekking the Great Wall for three hours or six hours.

Travel Agents will be able to entice their clients to book by offering them a free upgrade to Premium Economy on Cathay Pacific when booking any select Japan 2018 tour.

This is valid on new bookings made by 30 November.

An old favourite is back next year, with the 27-day trip taking in Tibet, Everest Base Camp and more. Mulholland said the tour crosses a number of altitudes, so the operator has packaged a doctor to ensure guests remain healthy.

Wendy Wu Tours, more than just a tour operator in Asia.

The company is currently working on technology that’ll allow Travel Agents and their clients to book beyond tours (small group or tailormade), such as individual flights, day tours, transfers, accommodation and even restaurants.

Wendy Wu revealed the news to KarryOn exclusively during a one-on-one.

She said that the company had the expertise to become the one stop shop for Travel Agents on anything concerning China and beyond.

The somewhat GDS-inspired platform is currently being built and is expected to roll out early next year.
