Let’s gooooaaal! Sydney stages first-ever Fan Fest for FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023

From 20 July 2023, FIFA and Destination NSW will host the first-ever FIFA Fan Festival, creating a buzzing precinct in Sydney’s CBD for 5,000 fans to watch the beautiful game in style with food, entertainment, games and more.

From 20 July 2023, FIFA and Destination NSW will host the first-ever FIFA Fan Festival, creating a buzzing precinct in Sydney’s CBD for 5,000 fans to watch the beautiful game in style with food, entertainment, games and more.

Available on all match days, the FIFA Fan Fest in Darling Harbour will feature Australia’s first FIFA Museum, football games and drills in the playground area and live music from the likes of Jessica Mauboy, Jack River, Mia Wray and other Aussie acts.

The public viewing area is free and fans can kit up with FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 merchandise with gear from all participating countries from the two-level official FIFA store.

There’ll also be street food and drinks on offer, including an Aussie barbecue by Aboriginal native food chef Sharon Winsor will be on offer and an exclusive dish – The Sydney Tuna Cheeseburger – from Josh Niland.

FIFA Chief Women’s Football Officer Sarai Bareman said: “The FIFA Fan Festival in Sydney/Gadigal will be a place where avid fans and football newcomers from all over the globe unite to celebrate women’s football and the FIFA Women’s World Cup.”

NSW Minister for Jobs and Tourism John Graham added: “We can’t wait to welcome international football fans and players to NSW and to share Sydney’s vibrancy and energy with the world.”

Australia and New Zealand are co-hosting the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 from 20 July to 20 August 2023.

Sydney is hosting 11 matches during the 32-nation tournament, including Australia’s opening game between the Matildas and the Republic of Ireland on 20 July and the final on 20 August.
