Flight Centre's Discover America expos an Infinity hit

The company’s statement comes after receiving high amounts of interest at the Flight Centre’s Discover America Expos in Brisbane and Adelaide over the weekend.

Infinity Holidays says it’s a bit of a guessing game when you go to set up travel expos, especially the first ones in the series.

Tour operators ask themselves, are the numbers going to be good enough to justify all the work that’s been put in for the weeks and months prior? Are we going to cover costs?

Infinity Holidays assembled their snazziest stand ever for these Discover America Expos, with red carpet leading up to the booking consoles, full colour flyers and flat screen TV’s keeping those in line entertained with a slick audio visual presentation.

A huge circular banner flew over the top of the booth, which meant you couldn’t miss Infinity, no matter where you were in the room.

The numbers question was soon answered with lines up to 30 metres all day at the Brisbane expo and full attendance at the theatrette presentations in both cities, in fact people were sitting cross legged on the floor in Adelaide and overflowing out the door – and it wasn’t a small venue.

Based on the response, Infinity said travellers obviously still see the USA as a desirable destination despite the fall of the Australian dollar against the USD and perhaps because of the abundance of great deals on air and land at the moment.

There was very strong enquiry for Disney and Universal Studios. Island hopping in Hawaii was extremely popular as was sightseeing in New York.

There were plenty of great deals at the Infinity booth, but the most popular was the five days for three Disney Pass, which sold like hot cakes.

This popularity of first round of Expos bodes well for the upcoming Discover America Expos in the other capital cities.

Discover America Expos will run to 9 August 2015 and Infinity will be attending all of them to offer the best deals and tailored holidays, designed by experts.
